Conners Wary Of Clevadude In Magic Millions 2YO Classic 2013

January 7th, 2013

Trainer Clarry Conners is keeping his eye on Clevadude as his horse, Assail, makes its way towards the 2013 Magic Millions 2YO Classic this Saturday.

While he admits he’s yet to actually watch the horse race, the hype surrounding Clevadude is enough to make his wary of the two-year-old’s talent.

Conners is counting on the Melbourne horse not being able to travel in the opposite direction in the 2013 Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

“I haven’t even seen him race yet to tell you the truth,” Conners said.

“(But) I think he’s the horse to beat. A big strong, horse. Let’s just hope he doesn’t handle the Sydney way of going.”

However, Conners is incredibly confident with Assail and is hopeful her latest workout in the heat of the day at the Gold Coast will put her in good stead for the $2 million race.

“She had to do that to get the adrenaline going,” Conners said.

“I could do that in the morning with her and nothing happens, they don’t go fast and don’t do enough.

“It was 16 days since she raced so I just wanted to do something with her. I was very happy. I think she worked nice.”

Assail has won both her two race starts and has earned more than $170,000 in prize money during her short horse racing career.
