Craig Williams Confident Assail Will Salute In Magic Millions 2Y0 Classic 2013

January 8th, 2013

A successful exhibition gallop at Warwick Farm Racecourse has left jockey Craig Williams full of confidence going into Saturday’s 2013 Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Williams will ride race favourite Assail in the $2 million event, who is [paying odds of $2.80 at bookmaker.com.au.

With Assail being assigned the inside barrier of one for the 2013 Magic Millions 2YO Classic, she will have every chance to continue her unbeaten career.

Williams was pleased with the young filly after her latest gallop and feels she will only improve going into this weekend’s race.

“I was really happy with that,” Williams said.

“She’s favourite for the Magic Millions and the way she worked I can see why.

“She’s got a very smart head on her shoulders.

“Clarry knows what he’s doing with this filly and it was great getting a feel of her today.”

Assail has won both of her previous race starts and has earned more than $170,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.

The Charge Forward filly won her first start in an $85,000 Handicap at Warwick Farm Racecourse, before winning the $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Handicap at Wyong racecourse on December 20, 2012.

Assail is trained by Clarry Conners at Warwick Farm and will be out to add close to $1 million to her prize money with a 2013 Magic Millions 2YO Classic victory.
