Real Surreal Out To Derail 2013 Magic Millions Classic Fancies

January 11th, 2013

While there is much hype surrounding the likes of unbeaten juveniles Assail, Clevadude and Missy Longstocking ahead of tomorrow’s 2013 Magic Millions 2YO Classic, there is one other filly jockey Michael Cahill can win the $2 million race.

Real Surreal, who is paying odds of $9 at, will be having her fourth career start in the race.

Cahill is confident that Real Surreal will prove hard to beat when she lines up for the 2013 Magic Millions 2YO Classic this weekend.

“She’s a calm filly with a good temperament and physique so she can handle the pressure that comes with a race like the Magic Millions where they go helter-skelter from the outset,” he said.

Real Surreal will also be aided by her barrier draw of three, which should see her have an easier start to the race.

“The 1200 metres looks as though it’s going to benefit her and she’s got a good gate which I think is crucial as long as she can stay out of trouble early,” Cahill said.

“She likes to balance up so she’ll probably be back off them a little bit in a typical Magic Millions but she’ll be running on strongly.”

Real Surreal has won two of her three race starts and has earned more than $70,000 in prize money.

Her only defeat came when third in a $50,000 Handicap at Doomben Racecourse on December 22, 2012.

Since then, she has won another $50,000 Handicap at Eagle Farm.
