Sweet Idea is on track to take out the 2014 Magic Millions Guineas in January after winning the lead up race at Wyong yesterday.
The three-year-old won the $100,000 Magic Millions 3YO Stakes and is on her way to a run in the 2014 Magic Millions Guineas.
Sweet Idea was making her comeback run yesterday after being forced out of racing for three months due to a bleeding attack she suffered in the Silver Shadow Stakes during the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.
Tulloch Lodge spokesman Mark Newnham was thrilled to see her back to her best.
“From barrier one at level weights you expect them to win and you want to see them win,” Newnham said.
“I think she is just one of those fillies that is never going to make it look easy but she loves a challenge and she puts her head out when it counts.
“The best part today was the last part and she can put herself right on the speed and that is an advantage at the Gold Coast.”
Weinholt, who placed a long neck behind Sweet Idea in yesterday’s Wyong 3YO Stakes, will also continue on to the Gold Coast according to stable representative Claire Cunningham.
“He’ll mainly improve in the way of education, having his first run in this direction,” she said.
“To ask him to put it all together around a track like Wyong and run down quite a classy filly, it’s not disappointing the way he’s run today.”
