A maximum capacity field of 16 runners plus five emergencies has declared for the race, just five of which are single figure hopefuls in the betting market at Ladbrokes.com.au.

The market remains fairly open with Wicked Intent and Frequendly sharing the top spot at $6.

Will they justify their favouritism or is it the perfect time for a green two-year-old to make their mark on the racing world?

Check out our betting tips & selections for the 2015 Magic Millions Classic below so you can bet better.

#14 Claudia Jean ($7)

David Hayes & Tom Dabernig’s Claudia Jean is one of the greenest runners in the 2YO Classic with just one start to her name but she’s well-tipped for success. The filly impressed on debut in the Christmas Season Plate (1000m) on December 20, winning three and a half lengths clear of runner-up Bosnia which indicates she’ll relish the 1200 metre distance at the Gold Coast. Claudia Jean has also scored the inside jump from barrier one with Stephen Baster to ride. The only thing working against her is that she hasn’t run in the clockwise direction yet.

#1 Wicked Intent ($6)

The Barry Mitchell-trained colt is co-favourite in the betting after winning three of his four career starts and finishing runner-up in another. He’s already found black-type success after winning the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes (1050m) and proved he has what it takes to be a contender in the Classic when he stepped up in distance and class to take on tough rivals in the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Plate (1200m), where he finished second. Will jump from barrier five with Chris Munce as jockey.

#3 Le Chef ($21)

Punters looking for a lucrative outside betting prospect should cast their eyes onto Darryl Hansen’s Le Chef with a win price of $21 or $6 to place. The gelding won his maiden at Ipswich on December 24 before going on to win the First National QTIS Handicap (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 3 by one length which means his track & distance record is one from one. Le Chef will get the ideal start from barrier three with Luke Tarrant to ride.
